Therapy for Depression

Feeling down can make even the simplest tasks feel heavy. That’s not a huge problem if your mood lifts after a while. But if your low mood persists and you feel disconnected from others, irritable, or numb, and struggle to feel much joy in life, then something is not right.

Often there are deeper factors at play, such as chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, past experiences, or patterns that are difficult to break.

Therapy can help you understand what's keeping you stuck and create meaningful, lasting change so that you can feel more engaged, hopeful, and connected to your life again.

For people who are struggling with persistent depression, I offer talk therapy, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

About Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy for Depression

Ketamine is one of the most promising newer treatments for depression, particularly when traditional approaches haven't provided enough relief. It increase neuroplasticity - the brain's ability to form new connections. This then helps loosen long-standing depressive patterns and create opportunities for change.

But lasting change requires more than medication alone. You need skills as well as pills. By combining ketamine with psychotherapy, we can use this period of increased flexibility to gain insight, process underlying issues, and develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and responding.

If you've been feeling stuck despite your best efforts, KAP may be worth considering.
